The first trip with the tip jar was to Antwerp to the chic Crest hotel. Sixty to seventy Cor-ruptelingen and many members of a pipe smokers’ federation. A somewhat unusual and not entirely harmonious combination.

For Cor-rupt, in addition to a weekend away, it was also a sort of reunion. Many old customers and friends who no longer lived in Amsterdam or even no longer in the Netherlands also came and that meant a lot of fun, lots of stories and even more drink.
That didn’t always lead to the most ‘appropriate’ behavior. The manager of the hotel was not sorry that we only stayed one night and honestly neither did we, but the weekend and Antwerp were sublime.
