In Cor-rupt there was an old stone ‘piss-pot’, our tip jar. We got quite a lot of tips and therefore decided to have a weekend outside Amsterdam with all the (more or less) regular customers once every two years. In total, we left Cor-rupt four times in the nine years. We went to Antwerp then to Lochem, to Maastricht and finally to Fochteloo.
Very different outings, depending on what came our way at the time. Hubert (a customer) who had a travel agency could organize a good deal at the Crest hotel, so we went to Antwerp. After Antwerp we wanted to go into the countryside. Bea (girl next door, best friend and customer) and I then went to Lochem to investigate the area. Bungalows for eight people, each room with its own shower and WC, a football field and a bowling alley. For something completely different.
Then another city, Maastricht and finally really into the outskirts of the north of the Netherlands to visit Tjeerd (from the Hilton brigade) whose family had a café in the beautiful Fochteloo. I’m sure there are a lot of anecdotes to tell per outing, so we are quite interested to hear… we too have a few stories and of course photos.
